Fear not, SharePoint 2013 users, Bamboo's Filters Collection for 2013 is here, and it's the predictably, wonderfully obvious solution to all your SharePoint filtering problems. Filters Collection includes five of the most popular, immediately useful SharePoint filter types that are available on the market. Filters Collection lets you customize Choice, Date, Text, and Current User filters, connect them to a Web Part, and have them up and running in no time. Best of all, the Collection also includes Bamboo's List Filter Web Part, which enables you to create complex, multi-column filters for List View Web Parts that are easy to make, and even easier to use.
In this second installment of a five-part series, we will introduce you to BambooDate Filter Web Part and some of its key functionalities.
To begin, navigate to the Edit Page menu and click on the Insert tab. Choose Bamboo Solutions from Categories and Bamboo Date Filter Web Part from Parts:

Having done so, you'll notice that Date Filter Web Part is not functioning. This is because it has not yet been connected to a list from which it can filter data:

To connect the Web Part to a list for filtering, follow these directions:
1. Click the Edit Web Part menu. A Connections menu will appear under it.
2. Click Connection> Send Filter ValuesTo> List name (In this example, we'll be using the list "KCus"):

3. A dialog box will appear titled Choose Connection. For Connection Type, choose the Get Filter Values From option and click Configure:

4. Next, click the Configure Connection tab in the dialog box. From here, you will need to select your Consumer Field Name selections. There are a number of Date-related data type options, including: Created and Date time:

5. Click Finish:

Next, go to the tool pane. From here, you will have three options from which to select:
None: In this option, you will need to enter the date into the date picker in the Web Part (once selected).
Specific date: In this option, you will need to enter the date into the date picker under it (once selected).
Offset from today: In this option, you will need to enter the number of day(s) After/Before today.

In this example, I have selected the None option and input the date directly into the Date picker in the Web Part.
Click Apply Filter. The list will now display the items related to the filter data inputted:

If you wish to discontinue filtering, click the Clear Filter hyperlink button.
By default, the displayed list will contain all of the data without anything filtered out:

To disconnect from the list, go to Connections> Send Filter Values To> List Name (i.e., KCus):

A Configure Connection dialog box will appear. From it, click Remove Connection:
